This Week

This past week was just as fast-paced and full as I thought it would be.
I will just take you through it in pictures:

Monday was the solar eclipse day.
We had to work in our classrooms for 7 hours, but could enjoy the eclipse wherever with whoever we wanted. So I drove to Sweet Springs and watched with my family!

Tuesday we had a work day and then I had softball pictures at 4:30.

It was also Open House night, so I had to run home quick for a costume change and got ready for Open House to meet my kiddos and parents!

Me with the Second Grade teachers

Me with my Friend Carol who is also in Healthy U!

Wednesday we had our traditional All-Staff back to school meeting: We always get a district t-shirt that we have to wear that day.
And they always make me cry with the BTS video!

This is my "almost done with two days worth of sub plans because I have to miss the first day and a half of school for softball" face.

Obligatory First-day-Of-School photo in my classroom.
But I'm looking a little different this year: those pants are a size 12, not an 18 :)

First Day Selfie at home before I left :)

The first day of school we also had an away softball game.
We played Clinton and WON for the first time in I don't know how long!!

Friday and Saturday we spent at Battle High School's beautiful facility playing in their tournament.
We played Washington and lost 14-1 (they were a final four contender last year)
We played Battle and had them on the ropes. We ended up losing 8-4
And then we went back up on Saturday. It was a lose and done situation.
We played Mexico, and lost 6-0.

So it was a very full week.
I went into school yesterday and worked on my plans for the week.
I did my shopping so I can finish meal prepping for the week.
Today my brother and sister-in-law are doing a gender reveal and then Joe and I had a date planned.
This week we have two softball games against teams we can TOTALLY beat!

Have a great week!

Mountain

It's been two weeks since I've posted and I don't have a lot to report.

These last thirteen-ish days have been rough, I'm not going to lie.
I have shed a lot of tears over the last two-ish weeks.
And it has nothing to do with my job or stress.
It has to do with fear.

And I have really had to rely on my faith on this one.
I know that God won't let me fall on my face, even though right now it seems like that's what's happening.
God doesn't give you mountains unless he plans to show you the way up.
I am ready to climb this mountain and listen to God.

In other news, the fair is over.
I work at the Pork Place during the fair. We have softball practice 6-8AM and then I head out there pretty much straight away and stay as long as I'm needed: this year I was able to get away by about 5 or 5:30 each day which really helped.

I ate extremely well during the fair, and treated myself less than I had originally planned.

We had our first softball tournament this past Saturday. We did really well: Competed with Boonville and lost 11-6 (one bad inning away from a WIN!) ... we beat Moberly 7-5 ... and lost to Wright City 12-2.
I am not just teaching these girls softball, but more importantly how to work on a team and support each other. *Life Lessons*

This week brings the start of school.
The eclipse is on Monday.
Tuesday is Softball Pictures and Open House.
Wednesday is a meeting day.
Thursday we have kids-- I have to leave early to go to a softball game.
Friday I am gone from school all day for a Tournament and we go back on Saturday to finish the tournament.

SO, a full, fast week planned ahead.
And then Sunday my brother and his wife are having a gender-reveal party! ... oh yeah, I get to be an aunt again!

Happy end-of-fair, eclipse, beginning of school week to everyone!

#goaldigger

This week has been really great.
Truthfully.

We started softball practices, had three days of tryouts, and I made it through my first time as a head coach and having to make cuts to my team. I successfully held my first softball parent meeting, and went to our Conference coaches' meeting today.

Saturday, Joe's family was supposed to have a reunion but the weather turned bad so we just did a dinner inside, it was a fun time!
I walked chicken barns with Joe Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

In other news, there's this cute kitten who I think has been a sweet addition to the house:
Lil' Punkin!

This was literally our Saturday night. Playing with Punkin.

She was cold... and needed a blankie haha

This really cool thing happened this past week: I got out my prom dresses. It was one of my "non-scale" goals to be able to put it on again! I was able to get it on- even though it was a little bit snug, it was on! (the left was this week and the right was Senior prom, May 2006)

This weekend is tax-free weekend, so I bought a few articles of clothing.
I bought two pair of jeans (size 14's!) and two pair of shorts... and this shirt; which is a Large and is a little big. Whoop!

This week was also really great because I have hit a big milestone.
When I started this journey, at my physical
(you have to have a physical to make sure that you are good to participate in the program)
... so at my physical I weighed 242.6 pounds (OMG!)
This past week at our Healthy U meeting, I weighed 190.8.
That is a total loss of 51.8 pounds.
(OMG!)
I just have ~15lbs to lose before I reach my *end* goal.
And truthfully, I want to be at 175 by my birthday.
(Because my license card goes bad and I need to re-do it, and the "current weight" box says 175)

I am really excited that I have been able to accomplish my goals so far.
Not only have I accomplished them, I've done it in a healthy, realistic way.
I have eaten cake... ice cream.... all that stuff.
But I have learned that treats are called treats for a reason: and they should happen every once in a while.

Coming up: more softball this week and the fair starts! Yay!
