RESET

I am claiming this year as my "reset" year.

2017 was the year I learned everything I needed to know about fitness and nutrition.
I also had some ups and downs.
2018 was the year I did my best to maintain what I had learned.
But life happened.
And what I am learning is that if you don't have that support system in place, it's harder to keep up with it all.

My principal gig I had ended up not being what I thought it would be. I did not enjoy my role and inevitably resigned my position in February of 2019.

I gained a lot of weight during that school year.
A combination of stress, long nights, running through fast food, stress, snacking, no time to go to the gym, and stress led to all my old habits coming back.
I was also going through a confusing time in the dating world.

After I resigned in February 2019, I went through a confusing time trying to figure out my next step.
I interviewed for some other principal jobs, I got lots of phone calls to come teach at some elementary schools, and thought about changing my career altogether.
But then, my old principal called me.
She said she wanted to go to lunch.
We had a great lunch and conversation. She told me there was a spot for me if I wanted it.
And it felt right - a team I was used to working with, a comfortable spot to slide back into a teaching role, and still have some leadership capability- so it was a no brainer.

2019-2020 school year was the year I rest my Educational Self.

I sold my house in October and purchased a new house with my boyfriend.
We moved in, along with his three girls.
Christmas break allowed me to unpack, organize and decorate the house.

And then COVID hit.
We ended our school year March 13.
How strange.

The stay-at-home orders were a blessing and a curse.
I was able to form bonds with my boyfriend's girls.
We were able to get into a true routine and adjust the set-up of the house.

Long story short...
I accepted a new position at a different school in my current district.
I am now an Instructional Coach - so I help teachers make plans, organize, find materials, and I observe them and give feedback.
I. LOVE. MY. JOB!
It has been the best blessing!
And my school has taken to me really well:
They voted me as staff of the month for the month of October.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So with all of that, a drastic change in life style (living with a man and kids), a new house, a new job/school... the diet plan and fitness routine went out the window!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another long story short - We got engaged in October!
{That story is a whole other blog post}

So now I have a goal- I know you're not supposed to work toward an event- but I want to be down to the weight I got to in 2017.
I want to be able to buy whatever dress I want, and feel confident in it.
And I have one year to do it in.

Our wedding date is
January 1, 2022

Here we go!
