A Royal Experience

"Raised Royal" is the slogan (last season and this) for the KC Royals

I have definitely been raised Royal. I can vaguely remember going to my first game when I was maybe five? six? It was raining, and our whole family was there and we covered ourselves in trash bags... that's a memory that will stick with a kid!

I remember going to games with my dad and sitting out in the right field seats.
All the years from the 90's through the early 00's when the team was sub-par and tickets were cheap.
Sitting in "all you can eat" seats.
Getting tons of give-a-ways.
Going to COUNTLESS games with my college group of friends- tailgating and creating numerous memories inside and outside of the stadium.
I have been to Omaha to watch the Storm Chasers.
Going to Opening Day in 2015
And then later that season, going to the ALCS game that sent us to the world series!
And then going to to Opening Day in 2016

I have sat up HIGH in the stadium and I have sat down LOW.
I have sat in fountain seats, and been to standing-room only games.
I have been there during rain delays, heat waves and I think there was snow earlier this year.

But today was pretty special.
I got to go down on the field.
And meet players.
And take pictures with them.

It. Was. Awesome.

My cousin Shelby came with me, and it was so fun-- here are some pictures from today:

Panorama view from on the field
So... in front of those on-field screens that display things there is chain-link fence so they run into it and not the screen!

My fave

Me on the field!

Whit Merrifield!
So much nicer than I thought ;)

Hunter Dozier... This experience was killing him

NED!!
He said "Well Hey, Gang!"
He. Is. So. Awesome!

In all my life I have never had a picture with Sluggerrr... Now I got it!!

Danny Duffy

Jakob Junis!

Kevin McCarthy

Drew Butera

Orlando!

Ian Kennedy

Totally Croppable!
He's my favorite!

I cropped Ned too... he's just the best!
Except when he makes weird game decisions
But I still love him!

Then we went up to our seats and stayed for as long as we could.
It was an awesome day!
-------------------------------------------------------

On to some other things that I haven't talked about yet:

I was offered a job as a principal in a near-by district!!
Well, it's an assistant principal job, and it's a new position.
But... as the quote says, if someone gives you an amazing opportunity you have to take it!!
And I have and I am so excited! I cleared out my classroom and didn't really shed any tears; I was ready for the next step!
My cousin got married June 2nd-- I got to hang out with my nieces (Avery is in this picture) And Hazel... my cousin's newest daughter! All very sweet girls!!

This is really just a picture with a Viking GIF... I got a few new LaMonte shirts (My new school district!) We are the Vikings!

It's been rather warm for mid-June.
Swimming in my mom's pool one day and the next day I powerwashed my grandma's house, deck, patio and an old car... That made for a long, hot day!

My cousin Sarah and I went to the game on Wednesday night!

That's just about updates everything!

I've got a full week ahead!
Enjoy yours!

Consistency

I presented tonight at the Healthy U meetings and it was so inspiring.
It was a nice way to remind myself about where I have been, the work I have done and what I have learned.

The Healthy U Motto is:
Learn, Change, Inspire.

You have to first LEARN
After you learn you are able to CHANGE
And finally once you change yourself, you are in a position to INSPIRE others.

So I presented on Meal Prep.
But I also covered some of the high points of the mental toughness that it takes to follow through with your prep and see results.

And I think that is what is the hardest part:
Doing a plan and sticking with it long enough that you get to see those results.
Results won't happen "over night" as they say... but really results happen over TIME.
Like a couple months.

That being said............

I spoke tonight mostly about Meal Prep and how it helps you to become consistent in your attempts to reach your weight loss goals.

When you are able to get yourself on a consistent plan where you know exactly what you are eating each and every day, and you are in the habit of meal prepping each week, you are setting yourself up for success!

And once you have changed and replaced habits... once hard times and stress come, you are in a good routine and won't as easily fall back into old, bad habits.

There are some habits that we pick up that over time become a part of us.
And it is REALLY hard to break those.
But... with HARD work and consistency, it CAN be done!

I will say that my hiatus from this blog completely coincides with myself getting back into a few "old" habits. So tonight was a great chance for me to re-focus myself.

I have goals still that I want to hit.
I am still not where I want to be completely.
But I know that I WILL get there by going back to what I know and following my plan exactly

That was a little all over the place.
So sorry.
